Field Notes: March
A round-up of my reading and listening and an ambient playlist for you to move with. Plus, a Bodyscapes update, a note of the next Body Lab, and I’d love to know what you’re curious about.
Not much change on the weather front here in Cambridge: March was pretty much a repeat of February with a long run of grey, windy, wet days interspersed with a day or two of hopeful blue skies that briefly blessed the magnolia trees. There does seem to be an abundance of primroses and blossom this year, that is salve for the soul.
WORTH A LISTEN
I caught up on a couple of podcasts from the February catalogue at The Wonder Cabinet. An interview with poet and ecologist Sophie Strand that among other things asks that we start to think about the body like a landscape that changes (which resonates a lot with Bodyscapes) rather than a machine that can break down; another with Rebecca Solnitt that left me feeling somewhat hopeful, and finally one with the physicist Carlo Rovelli who always makes me feel that the big theories of the Cosmos are within my own grasp.
