When it all gets a little too much (even a lot too much) you might find yourself reaching for words like overwhelm, exhaustion, and isolation in an effort to encapsulate and understand your experience. These terms usually represent the culmination of a cascade of sensations that can include but are not limited to changes to our muscle tone (higher or lower), breathing patterns, tone of voice, appetite, ability to focus, and to sleep well. In uncertain times like these in which we find ourselves now, wherever we are in the world, we can explore and develop somatic practices to help recalibrate our systems to better support ourselves, loved-ones and communities.
